In reality, the GSD is designed to turn off – yes not down, but off, your solar system if and when energex deems appropriate. To qualify for this product you need to have a 10kW inverter or larger.
So if when you are installing a new solar system, you keep it UNDER 10kW, you will not need a GSD and no one will have the power to switch your system off at their whim. ( this may change – but at the moment it is correct )
